New Market for Machined Component Systems
Machined Component Systems were being affected by competition from low cost economies and year-on-year cost down pressure. Having invested heavily in Tornos CNC sliding-head machinery, they needed to move into an industry that offered a better rate of return. They decided upon manufacturing surgical equipment and implants to supply the NHS and in their hour of need, turned to the Manufacturing Advisory Service – West Midlands for assistance.
Specialist Manufacturing Advisor Iain Robertson visited the Redditch-based
company to listen to the brief and make sure that their vision was realistic.
Once satisfied he was able to bring in expert associate assistance from Healthtech.
They opened many doors for Machined Component Systems and helped them make
their vision become a reality. The new division of the company became MCS Medical
and set about using their machinery tmanufacture medical product. This has
been done so successfully that they have now become a recognised brand presence
in the healthcare market.
MCS Sales Director Warren Gray said:
“MAS-WM are a godsend, without their assistance we wouldn't be where we are today. We are now receiving purchase orders for orthopaedic and dental implants and the future is looking very promising.”
